Terms of Use

WarMap Live is a free, automated visualisation of publicly published news reports. It is not journalism, not intelligence, and not a source anyone should act on. By using the site you accept the terms below.

What this site actually is

Every five minutes the site reads public RSS feeds from news outlets around the world. A language model reads each headline and summary and decides whether it describes a specific armed incident at a specific place, then estimates the coordinates, the type of event and its severity. Anything it produces that fails validation is discarded rather than corrected.

The model is never allowed to supply a source, an outlet name or a timestamp — those are copied verbatim from the originating feed entry, and every marker links back to the article it came from.

That is the entire pipeline. There is no reporter, no analyst and no human review between an outlet publishing something and it appearing on this map.

Accuracy — read this one

The map is a visual summary of what news outlets said. It is not a record of what happened. In particular:

• Locations are estimates produced by an AI model from a headline and a sentence of text. A marker can be in the wrong town, the wrong region or occasionally the wrong country. Coordinates are placed with far more apparent precision than the underlying reporting supports.
• Attack origins are attributions, not observations. When an arc is drawn from one place to another, it means the source article named an attacker — not that a launch was observed from that point. Where only a country is named, the model picks a point inside it. This can be wrong, and a wrong arrow on a war map reads as an accusation. Treat it as a visual aid, never as evidence.
• Event type and severity are the model's classification of someone else's summary, and casualty figures are whatever the article stated at the time it was published. Early reports are frequently revised.
• Some feeds are state-controlled and report claims as fact. Nothing here is fact-checked, cross-referenced or corroborated.
• Absence means nothing. An empty area of the map means no monitored feed published a matching report, not that nothing happened. Coverage is uneven by region and by language.
• Timing lags reality. Timestamps are the article's publication time, which can be hours after the event.

The single reliable thing on this site is the link to the original report. Follow it before you believe anything you see here.

What you must not rely on this for

Do not use WarMap Live for any decision where being wrong matters. That includes, without limitation:

• personal safety, evacuation, travel or routing decisions;
• emergency response, security, military or operational planning;
• journalism, research or publication without independently verifying the original source;
• insurance, financial, commercial or legal decisions.

If you need reliable conflict data, use a dedicated verified source. This is not one.

No warranty

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. It is a free service and may be changed, interrupted or withdrawn at any time without notice.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, WarMap Live and Lumora Build accept no liability for any loss or damage of any kind arising from use of, or reliance on, this site or anything shown on it — including any error, omission, mislocated marker, misattributed origin, misclassified event or delay, and including any consequence of the site being unavailable.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Third-party content

Headlines, summaries and outlet names belong to the publications that produced them, and are shown here in short form with attribution and a link so the original can be read in full. We claim no ownership of them and are not responsible for their content.

If you are a rights holder or an outlet and want an item corrected or removed, email warmaplive@lumorabuild.com with the URL and we will act on it.

Corrections

The pipeline is automated, so mistakes are inevitable. If you find a marker that is wrong, tell us at warmaplive@lumorabuild.com — include the incident's page URL. Reports of misattributed attack origins are taken particularly seriously.

Acceptable use

You are welcome to view the map, link to it and cite individual incident pages. You may not:

• place automated load on the site beyond ordinary browsing, or scrape it in a way that degrades service for others;
• present the data as verified, or as your own original reporting;
• remove or obscure the source attribution when reusing anything from here.

Changes

These terms were last updated on 8 August 2026. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
