Privacy Policy

The live map needs no account: you can use all of it without signing in, and we never ask who you are. Only War Map Pro, the optional paid plan, uses a sign-in. This page lists everything that happens when you load the map, and what changes if you sign in.

War Map Live is an aggregator, not an intelligence source. Incident locations and attack origins are estimated by an AI model reading public news headlines and can be wrong. Always check the linked original report.

What we ask you for

Nothing, to use the map. There is no newsletter and no form. If you choose War Map Pro, you sign in with a Lumora account and pay through Stripe — described in the next section. Otherwise we do not knowingly collect personal information, and we keep no database of visitors.

If you sign in or subscribe (War Map Pro)

War Map Pro, the optional paid plan, needs a sign-in. The account is a Lumora account, held by Lumora Build — the company that runs War Map Live — at id.lumorabuild.com. You sign in with Google or with a one-time code sent to your email; the account holds your email address, an optional display name and how you signed in.

What is stored in your browser

A few small values are saved in your browser's local storage (or, where noted, for the current tab only) so the map remembers how you like it:

These stay on your device, are never sent to us, and are deleted when you clear site data for this domain. We set no cookies of our own unless you sign in (see above).

The third-party analytics and advertising tags described below do set their own cookies.

If you install the app

The map can be installed as an app on a phone or a computer. If you do that, we record the install — and each time the installed app is opened — so we know whether the feature is used at all.

Each record contains only:

There is no identifier of any kind in these records — no cookie, no account, no device or session id — and your IP address is not stored. Two records cannot be linked to each other or to you. They can tell us that eleven people in Poland installed the app on Android; they cannot tell us anything about any one of them.

Nothing is recorded for ordinary visits. If you never install the app, this section does not apply to you and no such request is ever made.

The browser extension

War Map Live also publishes a Chrome extension, which shows recent incidents in the browser toolbar and can notify you about the ones you choose. The analytics and advertising described elsewhere on this page apply to this website, not to the extension. The extension contains no analytics, no advertising tag and no tracking of any kind.

It makes exactly two kinds of request, both to this site and both unauthenticated:

Neither request carries a cookie, an account, a device id or any filter you have set — only which of the eleven site languages you are reading in. Like any request to any website, it reveals the IP address it comes from, which Cloudflare logs as described above; nothing in the extension adds an identifier to it.

Your filters never leave your computer. The places, incident types and words you choose to watch are matched against the feed inside your own browser. We never receive them, so we cannot know which countries you follow.

The extension stores two things, both through the browser's own extension storage. Your settings — your filters, your alert threshold and your quiet hours — are kept in Chrome's synced extension storage, which means that if you are signed in to Chrome, Chrome copies them to your Google account and to your other computers; that copy is held by Google under your Google account, not by us. Everything else — which incidents have already been shown to you, a small cache of recent incidents, and the toolbar count — is kept locally on that one computer and never syncs.

Removing the extension removes all of it. There is no account to close and nothing of yours for us to delete, because we never had it.

Our use of any data received through the extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Analytics

Two Google tags load on this site, on every page, from one shared library. Its download is deferred until the browser is idle, so it never competes with the map for the first few seconds.

Nothing on this site records your session. Microsoft Clarity, which captured clicks, scrolling and mouse movement for replay, was removed on 9 August 2026 and no longer loads.

The advertising tag asks first. On your first visit a bar appears offering Accept or No thanks, and until you choose one, Google is instructed to store nothing for advertising — no advertising cookie, no remarketing audience. Refusing is one click, exactly like accepting, and the answer is remembered so you are not asked again. This is implemented with Google Consent Mode.

Analytics is not behind that bar and loads either way. That is a deliberate choice rather than an oversight, and it is stated here so you can act on it: the tracker-blocker and opt-out links below stop Analytics, and they work whatever you told the advertising bar.

The Analytics property is shared across the Lumora Build network, so traffic from this site is measured alongside our other sites in one property.

We do not sell your data or share it with data brokers. This page said we did not run advertising at all until 24 August 2026; the Google Ads tag above is why that sentence changed rather than being quietly left in place.

Services that see your request

Loading the map necessarily reveals your IP address to the services that serve it:

Those, plus the two Google tags described above. This site loads no webfonts, no ad units, no embedded video and no social widgets, so no other third party sees your request.

Clicking through to a news article takes you to that outlet's own site, under that outlet's own privacy policy. We have no control over, and no visibility into, what happens there.

How to opt out

Your rights

War Map Live itself holds no account and no identifier of its own, so for the free map there is generally nothing for us to look up, export or erase — the data described above sits with Google and Cloudflare under their own policies and their own request processes.

If you have a Lumora account (War Map Pro), it is held by Lumora Build. You can see it, manage your subscription and cancel it at id.lumorabuild.com/account.

To have a Lumora account deleted, to get a copy of what it holds, or if you believe we hold something about you, write to warmaplive@lumorabuild.com and we will answer.

Children

This site reports on armed conflict and is not designed for or directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes

This policy was last updated on 23 September 2026. If it changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
