War Map Live for Chrome
A free browser extension that keeps the conflict map's latest incidents one click away, and interrupts you only about the ones you asked for.

The extension sits in the Chrome toolbar. It checks warmaplive.com every few minutes, shows a count of new incidents matching your filters, and lists the latest ten in a panel. Clicking one opens the map focused on that incident.
Pick your places
Six regions and every country the map tracks, as one list. Choose Ukraine, or the Middle East, or both.
Pick what counts
Drone strikes, missiles, ground combat, naval, air defence, explosions — or all of them.
Words to watch
Track a city, a strait or a front line the country filter cannot express, like Kharkiv or the Red Sea.
Decide the volume
From critical incidents only to everything, plus quiet hours. Alerts are capped at a few an hour whatever you choose.
It does not ask for permission to read your browsing
It requests three things: the ability to run on a timer, to show notifications, and to save your settings. That is all. The install dialog shows one line — “Display notifications”. It does not say anything about your data or your browsing, because there is no host permission, no access to any page you visit, and no content script. The map's data is a public endpoint, which is why none is needed.
Your filters are matched on your own computer. Which countries you follow is never sent to warmaplive.com or anywhere else. There is no account, no cookie and no analytics inside the extension.
Why it does not alert on everything
The map records roughly a hundred incidents a day. An extension that announced each one would be dismissed unread inside a week, and then it would be worth nothing on the night it mattered. So alerts are rationed: repeated incidents in the same place are grouped, a busy few minutes becomes one summary rather than five interruptions, and there is a hard ceiling per hour.
Nothing is discarded to achieve that. Anything held back is rolled into the next summary and is listed in the panel the whole time.
Installing it
Install from the Chrome Web Store, then pin it: click the puzzle-piece icon at the top right of Chrome and click the pin next to War Map Live. Chrome does not pin new extensions automatically, and the incident count has nowhere visible to appear until you do.
It works in Chrome and in Chromium-based browsers that use the same store, including Edge, Brave and Opera.
