Gaza building collapse kills twenty as Ukraine-Russia fighting spreads

An apartment building in Gaza City gave way on Tuesday, killing at least twenty people including five children. Dawn reports the collapse came from damage caused by earlier Israeli strikes.

Rescue workers pulled bodies from the rubble throughout the day. The death toll stands at twenty confirmed dead, with no updated figure for those still missing.

Ukraine and Russia trade blows

A Ukrainian drone strike killed Russian Major General Anton Grunis near Kindrativka on September twelfth, according to the Kyiv Post. The 427th Brigade "Rarog" carried out the attack.

Ukrainian forces also damaged a Su-24 aircraft and a Russian attack drone launch site in occupied territories overnight into the sixteenth. Meanwhile, Russia directed roughly eight hundred attack drones at the Kyiv region during late summer, Censor.NET says.

Overnight strikes hit areas near Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv, with Al Jazeera Arabic reporting intensified attacks on Ukrainian ports and military facilities. In Voronezh, the Atesh partisan group claims it sabotaged a plant making electronic components for Russian missiles and air defences, cutting power for weeks.

Drone incidents spread wider

Saudi Arabia accused Houthi rebels of firing a drone toward Mecca, a claim the Houthis deny. Al Jazeera Arabic also reported a drone believed to be from Ansar Allah targeted the holy city, though the group denied involvement.

In Poland, prosecutors confirmed a drone with a fragmentation warhead and detonator washed up on a beach in Rusinowo, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, on September fourteenth. Ukrainska Pravda and Censor.NET both covered the find.
